Achievements
Jason, 18, is a member of Hong Kong's youth beach volleyball team. He represents the team 'Future' in the Second Division league competition. He is also the captain and centre of his school's indoor and beach volleyball teams. 
 He and teammate Chiu Ka-chun clinched a silver medal and were promoted to Division One in the 2010/11 Inter-School Beach Volleyball Competition. In this year's tournament, the pair finished sixth out of 12 teams.
 They also won a bronze medal in the sixth Youth Cup Beach Volleyball Competition last year.
 Jason is  playing for the Tseung Kwan O team at this year's Young Volleyball Athletes Training Scheme, a special programme for aspiring volleyball stars.
Soundbite
'My school only had a girls' volleyball team when I was in  Form Two,' Jason says. 
 'Then some schoolmates and I persuaded the school authorities to organise a team for us [boys], and eventually we were allowed to train with girls. 
'This year, my school didn't have enough players to form a team for the inter-school A-grade boys' competition - again. Fortunately I got help from the basketball team, which sent players to us.  We worked closely together and  our team reached the quarter-final for the first time.
'There were numerous overseas competitions [open] for me  with Hong Kong's youth beach volleyball team last summer. But somehow I wasn't able to take part or the [coaches] didn't send us because of financial reasons and other concerns. 
'I was due to go to Indonesia for a tournament last autumn, but it  clashed with the inter-school indoor volleyball competition. I couldn't leave my [school] teammates even though I really wanted to go [to Indonesia].' 
From his coach
'Jason is a player of average height but can jump very high on the court. He demonstrated his leadership skills throughout the inter-school competition this year and was able to help his teammates in all positions when needed,' says school coach Cheung King-fai.
Ambitions
'I will return to my beach volleyball training after the HKDSE exams. And I hope I won't let competition opportunities slip away this summer,'  says Jason.
