When it rains, it pours in the world of boots

It seems summer is boots season in Hong Kong. Last summer Aigle, a French purveyor of rubber boots and parkas, opened a pop-up shop in IFC Mall. This year, just in time for typhoon season, the Aigle pop-up is back, this time across the water at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The temporary venture opened with great fanfare on Wednesday, with photographers roughly clambering to get a shot of the on-hand celebrities, and apparent boot lovers, actress Annie Liu Sum-yau and television presenter Helen To Yu-fung.

The shop captures a bit of that rustic French boot charm and includes something called a boot bar. Don't be misled, the bar is all boots and not beverages. Thirsty boot enthusiasts are encouraged to do their drinking before shopping.

The opening of the pop-up coincided with the launch of the brand's new foldable Rubber Pack boots. There's a lot to look forward to this summer in the world of boots.
