The creation extends to the introduction of Stefano Pilati’s Broken Suit concept into the story. Pilati has created the broken suit by combining a jacket and a pair of trousers with different textures or patterns, bringing out a luxurious style which allows a man to express his own distinctive elegance. The director has cleverly applied the idea of exchanging jacket and pants into the plot. On one hand, it signifies Stephen’s growth and on the other hand presenting the idea of the Broken Suit Concept. Daniel Wu has stated in an interview that he really likes the concept, “to break the tradition for something new but not straying too far away from it.”
The director is known for his way of directing for carrying a hidden meaning. When exploring the promise of greater social-consciousness, A Rose Reborn also focuses on the new leaders of our generation – the charming, successful men who respect people and our planet. They are world travellers and willing to work to benefit our world.
