Asher Wolf is a crowd-funded, Amnesty-award winning journalist. She is the founder of Cryptoparty, a decentralised world-wide movement teaching people skills to improve security and privacy. In 2013 she was named by Foreign Policy's 'Top 100 Twitterati' as a "Tart-tongued Aussie information activist.” A former Australian Public Service employee and political media adviser, she also previously worked for Open Australia, promoting civil society’s involvement in drafting Australia’s commitments to the Open Government Partnership. She is a member of Digital Rights Watch Australia, and a lead organiser with the Australian grass-roots campaign #NotMyDebt, which aims to reform automated data-matching practices and debt creation by Australian government departments.
