Chetan Ahya is Morgan Stanley’s chief Asia economist, based in Hong Kong. He joined the firm in 2000 and has 28 years of experience in macroeconomic research. His thematic research focuses on growth dynamics, particularly the interplay of the leverage cycle and long-term global growth drivers of demographics and productivity.

Compared to the US and Europe, Asia has lower inflation and interest rates, much improved financial systems, and solid domestic consumption and export demand.
