Gene Ma is the head of China research and chief representative for APAC at the New York-based Institute of International Finance. Prior to joining the IIF, Gene was the China economist and strategist at Tudor Investment; managing director and China economist at ISI Group (Now Evercore ISI); chief macro analyst at Citic Securities; and a junior staff member at China’s Ministry of Finance. He graduated from Peking Univiversity and Cornell University. Gene is currently based in Singapore.
