Dr Issara Sereewatthanawut is the deputy secretary general of the Democrat Party Thailand. Before joining the party, he served in various advisory roles in the Thai Parliament as well as the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court. Sereewatthanawut sits on the board of directors for automotive companies, located in Thailand, Europe and China. He also teaches at both public and private universities. His alma maters include Chulalongkorn University and Imperial College London where he received his bachelor and PhD degrees in engineering.
Thai trade, like much of global trade, has been hit by the US-China trade dispute. With its deep ties to China and solid friendship with the US, Thailand must carefully find a balance in this time of US-China tensions.
