Song Bing is a vice-president of the Berggruen Institute and director of the institute’s China Centre. She is responsible for the overall strategy of the institute’s China engagement and development of China-based research and fellowship programmes. Prior to joining the Berggruen Institute, Ms Song served as general manager of Goldman Sachs Gao Hua, a Beijing-based joint venture securities company, and COO and general counsel for Goldman Sachs’ China business. Ms Song recently edited a book (in Chinese) titled Intelligence and Wisdom – Artificial Intelligence Meets Chinese Philosophers, a preliminary result of a groundbreaking research initiative bringing Chinese philosophers trained in Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism, together with artificial intelligence scientists in rethinking certain fundamental questions in this age of transformation.
