When Alan Nye passed the management of Britmindo on to his sons David and Stephen, he handed over a legacy of an honest and professional mining consultancy service. Today, the group continues to help improve Indonesia’s mining sector by maintaining top-class expertise across the whole coal mining value chain.

“We provide a holistic perspective on the mining industry, offering a suite of services spanning the whole life of a coal mine from exploration to closure,” says executive board member Stephen Nye. “We accomplish this with a strong local focus while making sure everything is sustainable.”

With clients comprising coal mine owners, mining contractors, banks, global investment houses and coal buyers and traders, the group offers a wide range of services ranging from JORC (Joint Ore Reserve Committee) reporting, technical studies and cost evaluations to exploration and mine management, operational mining audits and confidential due diligence reports.

“We recommend a step-by-step approach rather than jumping head first,” says executive board member David Nye. “We always tell clients what they need to know and not only what they want to know, giving them a completely honest overview of the challenges ahead.”

Britmindo leverages its seasoned staff comprising mostly of Indonesian talent especially trained in-house. With a presence in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, the family-oriented company boasts a nimble organisation that can easily develop niche opportunities. Britmindo sees huge potential in Indonesia with the growing coal demand domestically and regionally. To support such an outlook, Britmindo wants to network with engineering, procurement and construction companies that are expanding into Indonesia while seeking foreign technology partners in the field of mineral and metal mining consultancy.

“David and I are very open,” Stephen Nye says. “We have a moral and professional obligation to ensure the company moves forward, further expands and builds on its brand and reputation as a truly independent and reliable mining industry expert.

“Besides growing organically, we are open to partnerships and collaboration as a means to achieve this.”
