What are the options? Land reclamation takes a really long time to bear fruit. Villagers are determined to preserve the land that they owned in the Northeastern and the Northwestern areas of Hong Kong. And people are not willing to give up their country parks.

So what else can we do? Lately, the idea of working with developers to convert farmland to build housing estates with a certain percentage of subsidised flats, has been raised for discussion.
