US government borrows at record-low rates as yield falls in global rally for Treasuries amid coronavirus outbreak

  • A US government sale of 30-year bonds drew a record low yield of 2.061 per cent
  • Thursday’s new issue sale resulted in an unprecedented low coupon rate of 2 per cent, down from the previous record of 2.25 per cent
