New | China restaurant chain Xiao Nan Guo takes 65pc stake in coffee chain

Mainland China restaurant chain operator Xiao Nan Guo Restaurants Holdings will acquire a 65 per cent interest in Pokka Corporation (HK) for HK$195 million as part of its plan to implement a multi-brand strategy.
Wang Huimin, the chairwoman of Xiao Nan Guo, said the acquisition will “greatly enhance the company’s operating experience in western cuisine”.
“As more and more people dine out due to their busy life style, the mass dining business, providing quality food with value exceeding money and giving customers the most enjoyable dining experience, can present tremendous growth potential.”
Xiao Nan Guo will work with Pokka HK to develop the coffee and western casual dining businesses in China, Hong Kong and Macau, according to the company.
Xiao Nan Guo said the acquisition is part of the strategy to generate growth through key additions, and it believes following the transaction, there will be opportunities for resource integration and synergies between the two dining brands.
As of June 2014, Pokka HK operates 34 restaurants with 12 brands in Hong Kong and Macau, offering specialty coffee and casual dining selections.
