CIMC sees profit rise 87.5pc
China International Marine Containers (CIMC) reported first-half net profit rose 87.5 per cent year on year to 1 billion yuan (HK$1.26 billion).

China International Marine Containers (CIMC), the world’s top container manufacturer, reported first-half net profit rose 87.5 per cent year on year to 1 billion yuan (HK$1.26 billion).
Revenue increased 12.1 per cent year on year to 32 billion yuan, while sales of dry freight containers fell 2.5 percent to 625,300 twenty-foot-equivalent units.
CIMC, which also makes trucks and trailers, saw road vehicle sales rise 7.3 per cent to 57,200 units, with revenue from that business up 7.07 per cent at 7.14 billion yuan.
Revenue from offshore engineering, including the manufacture of drilling platforms, soared 272.8 percent to 5.7 billion yuan.
The company, which is also listed in Shenzhen, has China Merchants Group and China Ocean Shipping Group as its top two shareholders.
