Volkswagen’s new chief is betting carmaker’s future on his major push into China’s market, as trouble looms on the home turf

  • Volkswagen said last month it’s considering the option of increasing its stakes in local joint ventures to expand, part of a strategy review to be completed by early 2020
  • The German carmaker already operates ventures with SAIC Motor and FAW, and is weighing the options of a third venture with Jianghuai Automobile
