Chinese solar panel maker LONGi Green says detainment of its products at US border has had no major impact on operations
- Its products contain polysilicon made in China’s Xinjiang region, where Washington believes human rights abuses take place
- ‘Shipments to the US market are still proceeding normally to meet the order needs of American customers,’ LONGi says

Chinese solar panel manufacturer LONGi Green Energy Technology said the detainment of its products at the US border has not yet had a major effect on its operations.
“At present, [our] company’s shipments to the US market are still proceeding normally to meet the order needs of American customers,” Xian-based LONGi said in a statement on Thursday in response to widespread media coverage. “The Withhold Release Orders (WRO) of the US customs has not had a significant adverse impact on the company’s operations for the time being.”
LONGi said it will continue to monitor and evaluate the impact of the WRO on its US shipments.
LONGi’s Shanghai-traded stock closed 8.98 per cent lower at 91 yuan (US$14.23) on Wednesday after news of the detainment broke, and opened slightly higher on Thursday at 93 yuan.
