Sophia is the creation of Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics and is able to track and recognise faces and hold almost-natural conversations with humans.
Its biggest achievement, which caused worldwide controversy, was that it was awarded citizenship of Saudi Arabia, the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.
