Chart of the day: capital spending looking up

Societe Generale says capital expenditure spending intentions appear to be picking up across the board in the United States, according to the National Federation of Independent Business small business survey. Small firms did not appear to participate in the capital expenditure upswing in 2010 and 2011. Their spending plans are now at their highest level since 2008.
