Review: Elemis Pro-Intense Lift Effect Facial at 10/10 Space

We put the new lifting and firming treatment to the test.

Described as the British skincare brand’s most intensive facial, the Elemis Pro-Intense Lift Effect Facial targets puffiness and sagging along the jawline. It also works to lift and firm facial contours, and restore moisture to the skin thanks to new plant stem-cell technology (also at the core of the new Elemis Pro-Intense Lift Effect Super System available for home use). Given that my jawline seems to have started its slow (I hope) descent and that my face is continually dehydrated, I quickly made my way to 10/10 Space to try out this new treatment.

After a soothing “welcome touch” that includes deep breathing and warm washcloths on the feet, therapist Florence Davy began with a thorough yet gentle cleansing and exfoliation using Elemis products. Before continuing with the massage and mask portion, she checked the condition of my skin to tailor the treatment to my specific concerns. Davy had warned that the massage – designed for deep drainage along the jawline – could be rather intense, but I found the firm strokes and pressure to be comfortable and rather therapeutic. She followed it with the new Pro-Intense Lift Effect Jowl and Chin Mask, which stretched around the chin and hooked onto the ears.

While the mask was left on for 20 minutes, allowing its arjuna bark extract to strengthen and provide support to the cells, I enjoyed a relaxing eye and scalp massage. More moisturising and soothing masks were applied, leading me to drift off just before the 50-minute treatment was finished.

The immediate effects were noticeably plumper skin and more defined facial contours. Even more than the jawline, my cheekbones looked sharper and lacked their usual puffiness, an effect that lasted for a few days. This facial is suitable for mature skin looking for a lift, but would work equally well for anyone looking tired or jetlagged. Because it doesn’t involve steam or extractions, there’s no lingering redness. The only side effect may be a sticky face, which is easily remedied with a quick wash.

Unlike most facials, you can continue to get the same results at home with the new Pro-Intense Lift Effect Super System, a 30-day regimen that includes a serum, eye and lip cream, and jowl and chin mask. Buy one before March 31 and you’ll receive a free Pro-Intense Lift Effect Facial, valued at HK$1,380.
