The lawyer and London School of Economics graduate who gave up a career at Citibank to become "Asia's premier matchmaker" launched Lunch Actually Platinum. This is an upgraded version of Lunch Actually, in which people pay HK$5,000 to HK$10,000 for the privilege of meeting other members for lunch. It comes in three packages - HK$20,000 for three months, HK$60,000 which lasts for six months, and HK$120,000 for 18 months. Prospective clients who cannot prove they have at least US$1 million in the bank need not apply.

The 28-year-old Cambodian sprinter, whose country has the world's highest percentage of amputees, is its only representative at the London Paralympics. She will compete in the 100-metre and 200-metre sprints in the below-the-knee amputee category, using a prosthetic blade. About 25,000 Cambodians have lost limbs to landmines, but Thin Seng Hon was born without a fully formed right leg. "I feel excited and I will try my best because I'm the only athlete to participate," she said. "They picked me over all the others."

The 24-year-old student was chosen Miss Hong Kong after TVB's attempts to hold an online system for public voting collapsed. Instead, the winner was chosen by a panel of judges. Many of the audience favoured Tracy Chu, who was second runner-up. Cheung, Chu and the third-placed candidate will share cash and other prizes worth more than HK$4.8 million.
