Although Balenciaga's new store in Austin's Elements mall is the biggest by far in Hong Kong, it was crammed full on Thursday, as fashionistas and socialites flocked to get a sneak peak of the Paris-based fashion house's autumn-winter collection.
Alice Burns and fellow models presented 20 looks from Nicolas Ghesquière's sporty collection, built around the theme of a "working girl's wardrobe", and featuring leather-belted, high-waisted parachute pants, space-age sweatshirts with metallic animal or comic graphic prints, and knee-length sheer dresses.
Singer-actress Kelly Chen Wai-lam alongside celebrity models Cara Grogan, Carl Ng Ka-lung, Eunis Chan Ka-yung, Jocelyn Luko and Lisa Selesner all attended.
For Luko, the lure was apparently beyond seeing the new designs, as her husband Anthony Sandstrom was also there to spin music, and she doubled as a photographer, snapping photographs of him throughout the night.
