Organisers are billing the two-day event as a historic moment for the international financial community as investors and financial institutions from developed and emerging markets gather for the first time to discuss the challenges presented by a changing climate. Former US vice-president Al Gore and UN chief Ban Ki-moon will address the meeting by video link.
President Xi Jinping , in his capacity as head of the Communist Party, holds talks with the honorary chairman of Taiwan's Kuomintang, Wu Po-hsiung, in Beijing.
