The Democratic Party's central committee voted 21 to 1 to suspend Nelson Wong Sing-chi's membership after he launched a controversial petition to conditionally support the government's political reform package.

The Democratic Party's central committee voted 21 to 1 to suspend the former lawmaker's membership after he launched a controversial petition to conditionally support the government's political reform package. Wong had earlier scrapped the plan after a Beijing official ruled out any concessions.

 

The former wife of wealthy businessman Raymond Hung Kin-sang might be feeling the pinch after Hong Kong's top court ruled he need not share future profits with her from a HK$665 million development on The Peak, quashing a lower court ruling. Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li wrote of the case: "It reflects the worst characteristics of matrimonial litigation."

 

The mainland's richest man saw his fortune shrink by more than HK$100 billion when shares of Hanergy Thin Film Power dropped 47 per cent in one day. Li's 31.25 billion Hanergy shares plummeted to HK$122.2 billion from HK$230.4 billion. His fortune was estimated at US$26 billion in February.
