Eleonore Pauwels is the Research Fellow on Emerging Cybertechnologies at the Centre for Policy Research at United Nations University, focusing on artificial intelligence. She is also director of the AI Lab at the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars. Her research analyses and compares how emerging technologies, such as AI and genome-editing, raise new opportunities and challenges for health, security, economics and governance in different geo-political contexts. Pauwels is an adviser on the AI Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School, the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems, as well as an expert for the World Economic Forum.
