Trump’s ‘America First’ on immigration leaves a divided nation seeking a moral compass
By separating the families of immigrants at the US-Mexico border, taking young children away from their parents to be placed in government custody or foster care, while their parents are branded criminals and placed in jail, today’s America shows me how absolute power has destroyed the morality of its leadership. Once a nation that stood for justice, righteousness and morality, the country under President Donald Trump and his “America first” policy has been placed in a state of near civil war.
There is a constant battle between Democrats and Republicans, the people of the country have never been more divided in their beliefs, while their leader goes around the world spreading one-sided pro-American policies without understanding the circumstances he is leaving other countries and his own, and their businesses and people, in.
I can only imagine the consequences in the long run of whatever the United States is today doing politically, economically and socially to itself and to the rest of the world (“Donald Trump says illegal immigrants who ‘invade’ US should be sent back without any court hearing”, June 25).
When people come into our Country illegally, we must IMMEDIATELY escort them back out without going through years of legal maneuvering. Our laws are the dumbest anywhere in the world. Republicans want Strong Borders and no Crime. Dems want Open Borders and are weak on Crime!

But one thing is for sure, no god would be unrighteous towards children, illegal immigrants or not. No human being can absolutely judge what is fair and unfair, as we are all born under different circumstances in life. Hypocrisy pervades every human being and nation today. We must look at ourselves before pointing a finger at other people and governments.
I pray that we get leaders with high moral standards around the world who will make this world truly a better place, and not destroy what has taken so long to build. Compassion is the greatest human quality gifted to us by god.
