How to lose weight and stay healthy: just find an eating window
I refer to Eunice Li’s letter, “Hong Kong’s growing obesity problem can be slimmed through incentives at work and changes at home” (August 19). She suggested we adopt some incentive programmes to motivate us to keep fit. However, I think people unnecessarily complicate the issue of staying healthy. There is an easy, yet powerful tool that really helps people control their weight – intermittent fasting. It is easy to apply in daily life, and very effective.
The programme is simple. In short, we only eat within the time frame we set for ourselves. For example, I eat between 1pm and 8pm. That is my eating window. The idea is that the body is forced to use fat as energy when we are fasting. If you want to know more, you can search online for articles or YouTube videos on intermittent fasting, where people will explain how to use this method in daily life to improve your health.
