How Hongkong Post can push offices to ditch plastics for paper
Despite the focus on reducing plastic consumption, major organisations still continue to use it where it is not needed (“Hong Kong must be ready to get drastic on plastic”, August 31). The other day, we received two mailers via post, pamphlets enclosed in plastic from well-established companies of Hong Kong. Even some reputed clubs send their monthly magazines in plastic packaging. Many of these are clearly not recyclable or reusable.
It looks like it is taking time for all organisations to switch to more eco-friendly options: paper envelopes should be an easy one? Perhaps Hongkong Post could help by refusing such packaging altogether.
