Letters | Hong Kong bridge to Macau and Zhuhai: great service, but mixed messages can leave drivers confused

I recently tried out the new Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, using a private car that had already obtained a special licence to use the crossing. I was very impressed by the helpful attitude and good service offered by officials and staff on both sides of the bridge. But I do have a complaint.
The signage on both sides of the bridge is confusing. It is easy to get lost on roads leading to the bridge and on the bridge itself, because the signs are misleading and poorly written.
On the mainland side, many of the signs are in Chinese only. Bridge users like me who only understand English are completely lost. The standard of English I did see on the bridge, even on the Hong Kong side, is poor.
I urge the bridge authorities to install bilingual signs and to make the signs much easier to understand.
It's also very important to have proper signs at the approach roads to the bridge in both Zhuhai and Hong Kong. The benefits of the bridge are lost to some extent because of the confusing signage and notices.
