- The United States, along with others, needs to resolve the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine that only promises more misery and death
A deadly escalation has defied diplomatic attempts to defuse the latest outbreak of violence between Israel and Palestine.
As a result, the UN Security Council is expected to hold a virtual meeting requested by China, among others, tomorrow, if not sooner, to address it. The meeting had previously been put off from yesterday to next week at the request of the United States to give diplomacy more time.

In any case, the latest escalation extends the conflict and increases the number of dead and wounded.
