My Take | Relax, Western values are not under threat, just Western dominance

How often have you read these panicking headlines and stories recently?
“Western democratic values are under siege. A cabal of revisionist actors including China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are advancing their efforts to deliberately disrupt and undermine security and economic freedom.”
“Western civilisation is being destroyed by forces we can’t control.”
It seems many Western leaders and pundits are in full panic mode.
It’s not always clear, though, what their alarm is about. Do they mean non-Western governments, cultures and societies are actively challenging and subverting Western values or just rejecting them?
