S. K. Rosenbauer continues to blaze trail in Hong Kong, strengthens Asian foothold

Reminiscent of colonial fire engines, the bright red, massive and shiny fire trucks manufactured by S. K. Rosenbauer are not just iconic in design, but can also perform tasks according to customers’ specifications. Present in Asia for more than 30 years, S. K. Rosenbauer considers Hong Kong – where it has delivered more than 250 trucks – as one of its prime markets in the region.

The company has brought a new range of products to Hong Kong. These include high-rise turntable ladders with rescue cages and railway fire trucks used for tunnel firefighting and rescue on the crossrail line between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. It also introduced new technology to improve the operational efficiency of its trucks.
A subsidiary of Austrian firefighting and emergency response vehicle manufacturer Rosenbauer International, S. K. Rosenbauer is the group’s sales and service centre in Asia.
The company’s Singapore office supports the fire service requirements in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines. S. K. Rosenbauer also acts as the group’s regional service and spare parts operation base for Southeast Asia and Australasia, with centres in Brunei and Manila.
“For our Asian customers, we can customise the size of our trucks so that they are easier to reach and operate,” Houchin says.
Rosenbauer’s Panther Aircraft Crash tenders meet the highest standards of airport operators in the world and are being used in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and other Asian countries. The crash tenders feature state-of-the-art extinguishing systems, with an electronic roll stability control and a Birdview camera system, which allows operators to generate a bird’s eye view of the area surrounding the vehicle from inside the cabin for added safety.
