Barely two years after BCPG Group spun off from parent company Bangchak, the formidable green energy producer has already doubled its value following its initial public offering in 2016. Thanks to its strategic growth plan, BCPG is on track to generate 1,000 megawatts of power from solar, wind and geothermal sources by 2020. With a diversified portfolio and the technological know-how to accommodate changing energy trends, BCPG has successfully evolved into an energy aggregator as it manages and develops renewable power of all types.

“We have aggressively grown the company and have achieved recognition through our many successful acquisitions,” says Bundit Sapianchai, president and CEO of BCPG. “We grow by value.”

Following the success from investments in its solar power business in Japan, wind power business in the Philippines and geothermal power business in Indonesia, BCPG works with real estate company Sansiri to develop micro-grid community projects that will bolster its retail energy business.

BCPG efficiently installs and operates generation capacity that is close to consumers. Partnering with Power Ledger, a leading peer-to-peer marketplace for renewable energy, BCPG applies blockchain technology to introduce energy trading and management in Thailand, the first in Southeast Asia.

“We offer people the chance to build a new energy economy where they can produce, use and trade their own energy,” Bundit says. “It’s a world of collaboration.”

Working closely with many local and overseas stakeholders, BCPG upholds harmony between people and the environment to achieve sustainability. As a subsidiary of Bangchak – which pioneered the use of gasohol and biodiesel in Thailand – BCPG is the new beacon of innovation with a shining reputation in the renewable energy world.

“We democratise energy and give power back to people,” Bundit says. “Our offering promotes a low-cost, low-carbon society. It also helps the government to keep costs down by not having to invest in huge power plants or transport energy through long distances.”
