Moisturising products that leave a sticky feeling on the skin are generally not well-received in Asia, where the weather is warm. Skincare expert Ands, which has the largest market share in Japan of solidified oils, such as lipsticks, challenges this notion with its revolutionary Lala Vie line, a fine showcase of the 60-year-old company’s oil formulation technology and skincare know-how.
Suited for Asian skin and climates, Lala Vie is formulated using high-quality oils. It hydrates the skin, is highly effective for anti-ageing, and leaves the skin feeling clean and fresh.
“We introduced this product to market the technology and establish a foothold in Asia. We are determined to contribute to Asian customers through original design manufacturing (ODM) arrangements,” says president and CEO Masayoshi Yamada.
Alongside its own production, Ands partners with many local and foreign customers on an ODM basis. Banking on its oil formulation technology and skincare technology, Ands offers one-of-a-kind formulated products such as lipsticks, cleansing balms, solidified anti-perspirants and more. Ands also excels in efficacious and safe dermatological skincare products. In particular, its ATORREGE AD+ dermatological skincare brand is gaining popularity in Asia.
We promise to make consumers with dry, sensitive or ageing skin smile with top-class oil-based skincare formulation and dermatological skincare formulation technology from Japan
As the third-largest ODM supplier of cosmetics in Japan’s skincare industry, Ands conducts cost-efficient and timely ingredient and formulation assessments using approximately 60 types of in-vitro and in-vivo tests. Ands conducts formula efficacy and safety verification using grown cells and revolutionary 3D skin models.
The company will set up an ODM platform within this year with Mitsui Bussan Chemicals, combining strengths of top ODM players in Japan to raise the quality of Japan-made cosmetics even further. It works with top raw material providers to develop its own ingredients from small lot sizes, giving it the freedom to pursue different brand concepts. Furthermore, the company’s flexible production system allows it to manufacture small to large lot sizes.
Maintaining the highest standards in its factories, Ands complies with GMP or good manufacturing practices for cosmetics products so much so that it can obtain a pharmaceutical manufacturing licence at any time.
As consumers become more discerning with the products they use, Ands sees opportunities to offer quality-based skincare product development to Asian markets to enhance customer satisfaction. The company also seeks to promote the distribution of its house brands in China and Thailand. Ands aims to become a globally renowned skincare company for its ODM products and house brands to please every consumer.
“We will continue to develop new technologies to offer products that satisfy customers. We promise to make consumers with dry, sensitive or ageing skin smile with top-class oil-based skincare formulation and dermatological skincare formulation technology from Japan,” Yamada says.
