Technology is always evolving, but one demand never changes – the need for customer safety. Gastec unwaveringly prioritises customer safety as it produces user-friendly gas detection and sensing instruments. The pioneering gas measurement system developer is expanding its business to ensure safe homes, environments and industrial sites in Asia and worldwide.
A specialist in manufacturing high-quality standard and customised gas detector tubes, pumps and gas monitors, Gastec is pursuing new opportunities to serve not just industrial factories but also players in the medical, agricultural and environmental fields. It is bolstering relationships with influencers in the education sector to propel growth and understanding of its products.
“We adjust to market demands and changes,” says Gastec president Hiroshi Oguchi. “Our gas detection systems have been featured in primary school textbooks, laboratories and combustion learning programmes for 25 years, and we seek academic experts to help us expand this model in Asia and beyond.”
Gastec is known for its radical technology and international certifications. It gained huge market success when it introduced the piston model to replace the more common Bellows-style pumps for its detector tubes in 1970. To date, it offers more than 400 types of gas detector tubes with different concentration ranges. Plans to export a new calibration gas generation system and hydrogen sulphide gas monitor for sanitary sewers are underway as the company fosters collaborations in South Korea, mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore.
To better serve customer needs, Gastec plans to build a subsidiary in the United States to gain more insight into the local market as well as to further penetrate Canada, Latin America and Europe. It welcomes more international distribution partners who can directly communicate with its customers.
“With ample understanding of customer perspectives, we can easily increase the quality levels of our gas sensing processes and products for any industry or geography,” Oguchi says.
