The Ascott, one of the Philippines’ largest international hospitality companies, has entered a strategic alliance with home-grown developer Cebu Landmasters to expand into the Visayas and Mindanao regions – starting with the 180-unit serviced residence Citadines Cebu City, its first landmark project scheduled to open this year.

Well-situated in Cebu city’s Base Line Center – a growing mixed-use development with modern commercial, office and residential spaces – Citadines Cebu City sets a new standard in spacious, vibrant and conveniently accessible urban living without the hectic pace of the city. As Ascott’s first property in Cebu – the Queen City of the South – the premier development pays homage to the lifeblood of local culture with its proximity to popular tourist destinations such as Magellan’s Cross and the provincial capital.

“Citadines Cebu City caters to the young and trendy – leisure travellers and those on business doing projects in Cebu who stay from two weeks to a month and beyond,” says Daniel Wee, Ascott’s country general manager for the Philippines.

Citadines Cebu City offers apartments outfitted with full-service kitchens and some equipped with washers and dryers – while providing hotel room amenities such as wireless internet access, housekeeping service and 24-hour security and reception. The serviced residence also has a fitness centre, swimming pool and residence lounge.

Apart from Citadines Cebu City, Ascott’s three other properties under the alliance – lyf Cebu City, Citadines Bacolod City, and Citadines Paragon Davao – are scheduled to open within 2021 and 2022.

Ascott, which has been in the Philippines for 19 years, is on track to achieve its target of 6,000 units in the country by next year – continuing to expand through management contracts, franchises, investments and strategic partnerships.

“We look for partners who have strong capabilities and presence in the areas that we are looking to expand to,” Wee says. “More importantly, they share the same values and commitment that Ascott has towards delivering world-class properties and customer service.”
