According to the Bangkok Post, the Federation of Thai Industries foresees a dynamic future for the local vehicle industry and predicts overall car production this year to increase by 1 per cent to 1.97 million units. AAPICO Hitech is more than ready to contribute to this growth, serving local and international companies with its expertise in automotive frames and components.

“AAPICO is innovative and passionate. We are renowned in the industry because we simplified our business to focus on three things – QCD, which means quality, cost and delivery,” says CEO Yeap Swee Chuan, a Malaysian heading one of the most successful Malaysian automotive companies in Thailand with more than US$500 million in revenues.

From designing and manufacturing high-quality yet low-cost automotive parts for original equipment manufacturers, AAPICO expanded its scope to offer car dealership and automotive software services. Established as Able Auto Parts Industry in 1985, AAPICO accommodates new developments in the industry such as the internet of things, and has worked extensively as early as 10 years ago to develop car navigation systems. GrabTaxi partnered with AAPICO to use points of interest or POIs in the AAPICO-branded car navigation and digital map solution Powermap.

“We’re developing design skills and language skills to further improve our engagement with clients. We want to be the local footprint for a global company. We’re evaluating how to fully utilise our local resources and how to apply our expertise to tailor a truly world-class product,” Yeap says.

AAPICO has forged joint-venture partnerships with companies from the United States, Europe, India, Mexico and other countries to intensify its development initiatives and bring its products to the global stage. AAPICO is open to strategic alliances that can help it become a trusted global partner for automotive companies.
