With the global motorcycle and e-bike sector expected to reach US$22 billion by 2025, companies are positioning themselves to take a slice of the expanding market that is growing at a massive annual rate of 6.9 per cent.

Strictly adhering to the highest industry standards, Union Autoparts Manufacturing (UAM) has maintained its status as the most trusted pioneer of world-class motorcycle parts in Thailand.

“Our company creates value for the public, our partners and our products,” says Shinichi Nakashima, president. “Because of changing demands, our products have constantly improved to cater to the market.”

Producing a record number of 200,000 wheels every month, the manufacturer and distributor of premium parts maintains three factories in Rayong and Samuthprakarn with a workforce of more than 1,000 employees. UAM is the result of a merger between Siam Steel Group and Okaya & Co Japan in 1982, and it has grown to become a well-recognised expert in motorcycle rims, spokes and nipples. The company is also a trusted wheel assembler for top motorcycle brands.

UAM gained its innovative bent amid the ever-changing taste of customers. It has expanded its products to piping system, exhaust pipes and plating services while keeping pace with future trends by working with steel and aluminium.

Employing an advanced and multi-stage process technology, modern computer management systems and comprehensive quality control, UAM is committed to excellence and the satisfaction of customers through its highly durable and easily maintained automotive parts. Its clientele list boasts renowned names in the automotive industry such as Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, Mitsubishi and Nissan.

While UAM’s parent is located in Japan, its distribution partners could be found in Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Greece, Mauritius and Indonesia. It is now looking to expand into other countries.

As a product of a cross-border merger, UAM is keeping its doors wide open to collaborations and investments. “Partnership is a key to our success,” Nakashima says.
