Pokemon universe to expand with three new titles announced by Nintendo
The titles for the Nintendo Switch hybrid console and 3DS will be released in September and November respectively
Nintendo has announced three new titles in its hugely popular Pokemon franchise, including a game for its smash-hit Switch hybrid console.
Titled Pokken Tournament DX, the game will harness Switch’s unique features to allow local wireless multiplayer gaming between Switch consoles, as well as a single-player mode.

The Switch fighting game will feature 21 playable characters and includes three-vs-three team battles, online ranked matches and friend-only group matches. It will be available on September 22.
Nintendo Switch is impressive, but needs more games
It will be the first Pokemon game available for the Switch, which has been a runaway success since it was released in March, selling almost one million units in the month after its launch alone.

Also announced by Nintendo on Tuesday were two new Pokemon games for its older 3DS hand-held console: Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which will be released on November 17. Nintendo says these titles will be exclusive to the 3DS.
