Rich Chigga, the 17-year-old Indonesian rapper who is taking the hip hop world by storm, will be performing at Central nightclub Volar next week.

The Jakarta native born Brian Imanuel is best known for his viral debut single Dat $tick, which was released in March 2016. The track has notched up almost 51 million views on YouTube and received a remix featuring Ghostface Killah of the Wu-Tang Clan.

The success of the track led to a recent US tour, and profiles in TIME magazine and The New Yorker, but also accusations of racism and claims the teenager of Chinese descent was appropriating black culture.

This month it was announced that the Indonesian rapper had replaced Justin Bieber as guest vocalist on Bankroll, the new single from US electronic producer Diplo.

Rich Chigga will be presented by Volar and local promoters Fresh Off The Boat from 10pm on Friday, June 23. Advance tickets are HK$300 through Ticketflap, while entry at the door costs HK$400.
