Faye Wong showed she is no slouch in front of the camera on Chinese reality TV show PhantaCity.

Faye Wong’s new music video on Chinese reality TV show recorded in one take – watch it here

Mando-pop idol Faye Wong breezed through the challenge set by new Chinese reality TV show PhantaCity in her music video cover of Dreams by The Cranberries

Mando-pop icon Faye Wong made a music video in just one take on a new reality TV show that is taking China by storm.

On the show PhantaCity, pop stars and directors are paired together to film music videos on the spot.

Everything is done in one take with no edits – in front of a “live” TV audience, no less.

Sounds like mission impossible? To prove that it can be done, the first episode kicked off with elusive pop star Wong shooting a new music video for her cover version of The Cranberries’ hit Dreams.

Everything takes place on a huge 3,000 square metre (32,000 square foot) lot behind the stage. The audience watched Wong breezing through a few set changes on a big screen after which she emerged before them during the closing bars of the song – all without missing a beat.

The first episode also featured actor Ren Suxi, Chinese soprano Lei Jia, and TFBoys’ Jackson Yee.

PhantaCity premiered last Friday and the first episode has raked up over half a million views on YouTube.
