From Jackie Chan to Jet Li to Angelababy: Hong Kong stars get the #10YearChallenge treatment

  • Social media is buzzing with the meme comparing photos taken 10 years apart
  • We’ve gone through the SCMP archives to find how well Hong Kong celebrities have aged

In the #10YearChallenge meme currently sweeping social media, we get to see how our friends and favourite stars have – or in many cases haven’t – aged during the past decade.

In the challenge (also known as the #HowHardDidAgingHitYou and the #GlowUp challenge) participants post two images – usually side by side – taken at least 10 years apart.

Whether it’s a data-mining experiment by social media companies or just a harmless meme, news feeds worldwide are being swamped by the challenge and celebrities including Trevor Noah, Chrissy Teigen, Nicky Minaj and Caitlyn Jenner have posted pictures for comparison.

We haven’t seen many by Hong Kong celebrities so far, so we mined the South China Morning Post archives for old and new pictures of our favourite local singers and actors to see how they’re holding up.
