Your Hong Kong weekend food guide for January 23-25
Head to Tai Kwun this Friday for sushi and sashimi, channel Aussie vibes with a sausage sizzle on Saturday, and swing by Festival Walk’s newest bakery on Sunday

Kick off this weekend with Shiro Central’s all-day Japanese debut inside Tai Kwun’s heritage walls. Then, roll into Bourke’s rowdy Aussie Triple J countdown bash on Peel Street, and finish with Bakery by the Grand’s queue-baiting Kowloon expansion at Festival Walk. This means Tokyo-inspired robata and sake sessions, snag-sizzling pub revelry and sourdough-fuelled cafe indulgences in one unmissable Friday to Sunday arc across town.
Friday, January 23

Shiro Central at Tai Kwun has debuted as Aqua Restaurant Group’s newest all-day Japanese destination, blending contemporary Tokyo-inspired cooking with Tai Kwun’s heritage courtyards for everything from executive lunches to relaxed post-work dinners. Expect a warm, wood-toned dining room, leafy terraces and a menu by chefs Tatsuya Iwahashi and Jeff Ko. The food selection includes sushi, sashimi, yakitori and robata signatures such as Saikyo-style grilled black cod, chilli teriyaki lamb with yuzu and miso, stone-grilled Wagyu sirloin with crispy garlic chips, and bluefin tuna with kinome seaweed salad and ikura. This is backed by a drinks menu of draught cocktails, Japanese beers, premium sake, whisky, shochu and umeshu.
