Valentine’s Day weekend in Hong Kong doesn’t have to mean the same old white-tablecloth dinner for two. This year, why not start with Japanese comfort food in Tseung Kwan O, graduate to old-world Italian romance in Tsim Sha Tsui, and end on a modern, candlelit note at the neighbourhood bistro of your choice? From juicy handmade hamburger steaks, to rose-laced risotto and champagne-topped pavlovas, our three-day guide maps out indulgent, romantic meals for every kind of couple.

Yamamoto Hamburg, the Tokyo handmade hamburger specialist founded by chef Shohei Yamamoto in 2005, debuts its first Hong Kong outpost at PopCorn mall in Tseung Kwan O. Freshly ground and grilled daily, juicy patties of Australian Black Angus beef and Spanish pork are served alongside unlimited Japanese rice refills and homestyle sauces.

The Classic Feast Hamburg anchors the menu with its inventive toppings. For an authentic taste of Japanese comfort, seasonal specials are served in a warm, wood-accented space designed for family-style meals.
