What I’m listening to: any quality music. The Putumayo label  is my most precious musical influence. I like reggae, gypsy music, jazz, opera, and downtempo electronic, too. I own a cajon drum that was stolen from me by a Brazilian jazz musician. I tracked it down in Russia and got it back a year later. I never give up.

What I’m reading: I follow the advice of a couple of wiser and better-read friends that I trust. I am an Economist subscriber and read the SCMP most mornings, particularly on race days (I’m a huge horse racing  fan), and Monocle occasionally. I like to support quality journalism.

What I’m watching: I’m proud to say I haven’t owned a TV for more than 10 years, but I love art house films in general, including Fellini, Antonioni, Pasolini and  the Scandinavian new wave. Given that I’m involved in The Helper, a documentary about Hong Kong’s domestic helpers, I’ve watched more than 50  documentaries recently  to study the genre.

What artists I’m following: Anish Kapoor, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Ai Weiwei and Andy Warhol. I would also add two names from Hong Kong: Kingsley Ng  and Jay Forster.  My favourite local gallery is AP Contemporary,  and I really love Swire’s initiative around ArtisTree.
