As Hongkongers continue to endure the heat and rainstorms of July, the city’s midsummer event season is sizzling with excitement.

There are a multitude of different ways to reset your mind this weekend, from a dance party to a book fair to an athletic gathering and beyond. Many of these events focus on community and spending time with fellow urbanites.

Here are some fantastic opportunities to put down your laptop, turn off your work phone and venture out for a new exploration.

1. Vformer Pilates’ Reformerun

Vformer Pilates is hosting its weekly Reformerun Sunday ritual this weekend, a delightful combination of Pilates, track running and brunch. These events are designed to combat the “Sunday scaries”, or the feeling of dread and panic that sets in as Monday looms.

The event kicks off with a 50-minute session of reformer Pilates (single-class tickets are HK$300/US$38) before transitioning to a high-energy 5km (3.1-mile) run on the Happy Valley Racecourse track. After the workout, participants will head to Fineprint for a post-workout brunch and conversation.
