Normally, tea is for two, but for Lancôme, tea is for 30. That's how many local celebrities the luxury beauty brand invited to tea at Sevva restaurant in Prince's Building in Central to celebrate the launch of its Absolue line of products. Among the guests were models Balia Chan and Janel Ma, singers Candy Lo and Amanda Lee, and girls-about-town Jacqueline Chong Si-man and Ankie Beilke, who pulled out a tube of Lancôme lip gloss before posing for a photo.

K-pop sensation Choi Siwon, lead singer of South Korean boy band Super Junior, was recently in town for promotional work for the mobile messaging app LINE, a competitor to WhatsApp. An advertisement made for local television featuring the singer-actor using the app was screened at an event.

After chatting with guests, he posed for photos with a cute stuffed toy based on one of the characters created for LINE.

Choi stayed in town for a couple more days and was later seen attending the 32nd Hong Kong Film awards in a dashing black tuxedo, causing his female fans to swoon.

Montblanc kicked off its latest Signature for Good campaign, saying it hoped to raise US$1.5 million this year to support Unicef's educational programmes. For every item in the Signature for Good collection sold until the end of next March, Montblanc will donate part of the proceeds.

The campaign kicked off last week at its boutique in Tsim Sha Tsui, in a ceremony hosted by James Siano, Montblanc's CEO for the Asia-Pacific.

Also in attendance were Hong Kong Committee for Unicef chairwoman Judy Chen, and special guests Karen Mok and Canto-pop figure Mark Lui.

Mok and Lui signed their names on bricks and inserted them into a wall symbolising efforts to build a better future for impoverished children. A video was also screened of Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank's Ethiopia visit for the campaign.
