What I’m listening to: Australian outfit Flow Dynamics, who combine live musicians and electronic sampling to create 1970s-style funky grooves with hip-hop influences. And also Italian duo Gabin, a nu-jazz band with a seductive Blue Note-influenced uptempo groove. I love old-school sounds rejuvenated for today’s dance floors.

What I’m reading: I’ve just started a Christmas gift – Ocean’s Songs by Olivier de Kersauson, one of the most decorated French yachtsmen. He was sailing around the world, not for trophies or world records, but to explore the unknown. He describes the world maritime map the way others would a portrait of a woman.

What I’m watching: Gone Girl directed by David Fincher, a dark and intelligent thriller in the best tradition of Alfred Hitchcock. And it finally features a good performance from Ben Affleck. I also just watched the totally insane and provocative Old Boy by Spike Lee, starring Josh Brolin. It’s a thriller about revenge and the story still sticks in my mind.

What artists I’m following: I really respect Charli XCX, an interesting singersongwriter who is the new sound of pop, combining elements of Siouxsie, Kate Bush, Christina Aguilera and Lil’ Wayne.

Where I’m surfing: Huffington Post for an international daily news fix, l’Express for French news and NBA Live for entertainment. And babycenter.com – I need to keep myself informed for my baby girl.
