Burning Man babies: meet the Nevada music and art festival’s youngest fans
- Burning Man is a nine-day music and art event in the middle of the Nevada desert
- More and more people are bringing their children to Burning Man. An Instagram account is advocating for their right to be there

The Baby Burners Project has set out to prove just that. Their Instagram account – @babyburners – features the photos and stories of parents who brought their children along for the nine-day music and art event in the middle of the Nevada desert, in the United States.
The photos are “proof that children belong at Burning Man”, according to the account’s bio. The page currently has just more than 20 posts and nearly 2,000 followers.
Burning Man describes itself as a “kid-friendly event”, where children under age 18 are allowed to attend the annual event as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian, and those under 13 can even attend for free, according to Burning Man’s website.
However, bringing your children to Black Rock City is “not an easy choice nor one to be taken lightly”, according to the event’s website, which also has a 10-page “Family Survival Guide” with tips on how to help children endure the harsh weather conditions and avoid getting lost.
