Paul Zimmerman, Designing Hong Kong

The sites and sounds keeping Paul Zimmerman amused and informed

Designing Hong Kong head and Southern District councillor enjoys some golden oldies, and Lenka with his young daughter

What I’m listening to: Backchat and Phil Whelan on RTHK 3, blues and soul internet radio stations, and old CDs by artists such as Bob Marley and J.J. Cale. And Lenka with my five-year-old daughter.

What I’m reading: The South China Morning Post and The Economist. I get most of my news online.

What I’m watching: besides numerous short clips popping up on my newsfeeds, I watch the 7.30pm news, Pearl Report and Newsline. Out for movies as picked by my wife. My all-time favourites are films by David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino. Saturday night dinner is with America’s Funniest Home Videos and America’s Got Talent.

What artists I’m following: unless we include politicians, state leaders and local activists, I don’t follow artists.

What websites I’m visiting: the SCMP, The Economist, Huffington Post and StandNews – a Chinese online newspaper. I use Google Chrome with the translator app so that Chinese text appears automatically in English. Enough to know what goes on.
