What I’m listening to: what I’m doing dictates my playlist. If I’m working out, I go for upbeat tunes by the likes of Katy Perry or Taylor Swift, and when I’m chilling at home and cooking, I go for easy-going stuff by Jack Johnson or Khalil Fong, or classics from Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.

What I’m reading: I average around a book a week and my reading list is quite ghastly – I’m a fan of psycho thrillers from authors such as Tess Gerritsen, Mo Hayder, Jo Nesbø and M.J. Arlidge. No chick-lit for me.

What I’m watching: Game of Thrones and House of Cards – although set in totally different environments, both dramas revolve around strategy, clever manipulation and mind games. Plus, I’m a sucker for dragons.

What artists I’m following: I really like the honest emotions laid on canvas by Xin Dongwang, who passed away last year. The figures in his paintings have inhuman proportions, yet their faces and postures depict human emotions in their truest forms. I especially like his portraits of migrant workers in China, as he captures their desperation and hopefulness.

Where I’m surfing: this is not a plug, but I visit my own website girlmeetscooking.com and my magazine website afoodieworld.com every day, simply because I’m always editing and adding stuff. I also have an unhealthy obsession with Taobao and Etsy.
