Comedian Greg Davies on his bodybuilding obsession and his family’s influence – extended interview

British funnyman Greg Davies’ career hit a high point this year.

Long one of the country’s most-loved comedians thanks to his role in the television sitcom The Inbetweeners and his appearances on TV game shows such as Taskmaster and 8 Out of 10 Cats, Davies broke through internationally with the success of his Netflix comedy special You Magnificent Beast.

When he brought the You Magnificent Beast tour to the Punchline Comedy Club in Hong Kong late last month, Davies talked to the South China Morning Post about everything from his family’s influence on his comedy to his tongue-in-cheek obsession with bodybuilding.
